Glue ear?

Hi, my DS is 3. For the last year or so he has had intermittent hearing loss. He has months of being fine and then months if beig very hard of hearing. After a lot of nagging the GP referred him for a hearing test. He came back fine which wasn't a surprise for us as when the referrals came through his hearing was ok. A few days after the test he had a snotty nose and has been really hard of hearing since (about 3 weeks). This keeps happening. What should I do? The gp was so dismissive and now we've got a clear hearing test result I think they'll just tell me to go away.

Pay privately to see an ENT specialist and see what he says - get an idea of what may be wrong then go back to the GP and push like hell. Should cost about £130.

Different GP? Is there anyone in your surgery who specialises in ENT?
Also check out NCDS website, they take glue ear seriously and may have some good advice

what happened at your hearing test? was it with audiology? did they discharge him after it or say they'd test him again in a few months?

if you've been discharged then see a different GP and ask to be referred back
