DS 2, holds on to his poo, well I assume he does as he only goes once a week. Recently he held on to it for two weeks and then when he finally went, he was a mess: His bottom was bleeding, it got stuck halfway. It was an awful hour all round.
Since then every time he goes he bleeds, not just a little wipe but a huge amount of blood needing at least two wipes. We've been to the GP, he's prescribed Movicol and a cream. He's had a sachet of movicol a day but only takes a mouthful, every night since we've started he is in agony with his stomach and had come out in hives. Could that all to be to do with the movicol even though he is only taking a little bit?

I'd say see another gp ASAP, sounds like movicol not working at all well and your poor DS and you must be feeling pretty miserable. Hope things improve.
