How much should a 10 yr old drink a day?

I think DD doesn't drink enough so I thought I would try and find out and then we could try and make sure that she consumes that amount daily. I am also going to try and drink more too so thought it could be one of our challenges for the summer!

I don't know the answer to be honest, but I don't think my 11 year old drinks enough. I'd say about 1pint water a day at the most (even with me reminding her to drink). She moans, but I still insist she has a small milk drink in the morning and evening to keep up her liquid intake, this amounts to approx. 6-7floz a day. The only other drinks she likes are hot chocolate and coke, but never finishes them if she has them as a treat.

Having said this, she doesn't get headaches and is full of life, so it's not affecting her.

I was told 9 year needs to be drinking 2 Litres of water per day like adult. This was for DD who has migraines and one of her triggers is dehydration.

The biggest change was getting her a bobble water bottle which filters all the water she drinks and she does pretty much achieve the 2 litres each day. Though it is not through me nagging though it is because the migraines are so awful she is desparate to avoid them.
I hate the taste of squash so I have just never bought it (my mum never bought it either), I don't really drink fizzy drinks (again don't really like them that much) so water, milk, tea and coffee are really the only options in my house.
