Temperature and Puffy/Blotchy Face

Hi All,

Any advice? The last couple of days my DS (3.5) has had a mild-ish temperature. On waking usually 38.5, going down once giving nurofen, going back up late afternoon/evening time.

Went to nurse practicioner yesterday, and she checked out ears, chest, throat etc. and said all fine, and just to carry on dosing up with pain relief.

Today, my DS's temp has subsided. However, his eyes now look puffy and the skin under his eyes is also quite red and blotchy. To be fair, he hasn't slept all that well the last few nights- but he looks quite odd.

He had his follow up MMR jab a fortnight ago- so am wondering if it could be a reaction to that?

I will ring back the nurse and ask for advice- but any ideas?

The nurse specifically told me the MMR reaction may be 10-14 days so it sounds like that
Hope he feels better soon

Not the same symptons, but my daughter was ill a couple of weeks after her MMR. The doctor said it was a mild dose of one of the vaccines causing the symptons and proved it was working.

If you're not happy with the symptons though, do speak to the nurse. Hope he is better soon.

It's gone now! Phew. I rang the practice- they said it was too late for a rash following the jabs- but that they thought it was a 'reaction' to having had a temperature. I gave him some piraton on their recommendation, and it went almost immediately! Thought I'd update in case anyone searches this in the future.
