DD screaming in the night with cramp?

DD wakes around once a week to once a fortnight with terrible pain in the back of her knee and is unable to bear weight. She is 6 and its very distressing. I rub it and try to get her to walk around but it's obviously very painful and she gets very angry in her half asleep state.

Saw GP who via her allergy doc prescribed extra calcium via a syrup but the pharma company has a supply issue!?

Please does anyone have experience of this? What can I do to help and prevent these bouts?

Thanks

dd has this (hypermobility and an assortment of leg/ankle conditions, ortho footwear etc) so watching with interest. We usually resort to massage and calpol, but I'm never sure that what we do is adequate when it happens.

Same as us, massage and nurofen but she seems in so much pain? Just feels a bit inadequate as you say,, would rather try to treat the root cause?
