My dd is 2 weeks old. I am not sure but suspect I have a cold sore on the corner of my mouth. I've never had one before and thought it was a spot but it seems to be hanging around & not clearing up. I googled cold sore + newborn and found lots of very alarming info about how dangerous it is to have both together and potentially life threatening for her. Now I'm freaking out i have passed the virus in to her - of course ive been kissing her... what should I do? She seems fine, is feeding well etc but what if the symptoms are hidden? Can anyone advise me please? Thank you.

I would call and speak to a midwife for advice.

Stop kissing her for now and see your GP tomorrow.
