ABRs are easy on a quiet still child - usually sleeping. The audiologist are very used to dealing with waiting for the baby to go to sleep. They will apply little electrodes behind the ears and on the forehead and then play a series of sounds and measure the brain's response. The NDCS website had details. It's not a difficult test, my kids have had loads.
