Summer holidays sounds like a perfect time to get more active as a family. There are lots of day camps run by the local authorities that are sport-based. How much exercise does she do currently? A hour of gym once a week will not make up for sitting around the rest of the time. Does she walk/scoot/cycle to school? What sports does she enjoy that you could plan for next term?
What is a typical day's food like now?

So what other sports does she enjoy that you could build in to her week? Swimming? Dance? Cycling as a family at the weekend? You're supposed to aim at minimum 60 active minutes every day.

Is she eating a lot of processed food that might be high in fat and sugar? What does she have for snacks?

Why do you think that she has become overweight in the first place?

Have you spoken to your GP or HV about it? I think they generally don't try to get kids to lose weight but to maintain it whilst they grow taller, but I'm sure there are lots of sources of advice they could point you to.

What does she eat in an average day?

Unless the walk to school is a long one then that's not a lot of exercise really
