Ingrown baby toe nails

I've just asked gp for a referral for dd2 (8 months) infected toe. They are threatening nail removal under a GA. I'm v scared

oh my, that is grim. Poor her and poor you!
My DS has gross toenails - I'm always worried they'll ingrow or something.
