Basically it's all in the title we are on a waiting list at birminghams childrens hospital for the op but we are moving to evershot near Dorchester in Dorset next month we aren't expecting to hear date for the op in Birmingham until November. I have no knowledge of the hospitals in the area although with a bit of research I think we have a choice of Dorchester, Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth. Any advice would be greatly received x

My dd is 2 and had a minor op in Poole. Nothing major just needed stitches as she split her lip badly after a fall. The staff were brilliant and really made me feel ok about it. They did a good job on her stitches and added extra because they said it would be a shame if she had a mark. They talked through everything before and during what I would see and how dd would react to being knocked out with gas etc. They could see I was nervous aswell and they let me know anything even down to I may get a bit light headed from the stress of it and if so they would wheel me back to the room to lay down. My friend said it just their job but to me it was more and I was very grateful.
Hope your ds gets on ok whichever hospital you choose x

Bournemouth has no paeds
I have heard good things about Dorchester Hospital adult wards as well as Salisbury which could be another option

Thank you guys, it's hard not knowing the area yet I'm sure they are all good in their own ways but I must admit I'm loving hearing about your experience in Poole, sounds like they truly went above and beyond for you and your dd
