Dd is 5 her teacher has noticed she takes a long time to sit on the carpet and seems to find it uncomfortable. This morning she complained of stiff ankles when she got up.

She had surgery on her toes in January and had casts on for 6 weeks, up to just past ankles, but that seemed to be getting much better. She was initially stiff, but got better now seems to be getting stiff again? She has always had good health.

Have you asked her if it's uncomfortable? If it would set your mind at rest might be worth a mention to her GP? I think normally at 5 children are v flexible and comfortable on the floor so would say worth a check but my medical knowledge is non existent!

She gets coy, she doesn't like a fuss. She says she finds sitting still really difficult, she's never been one to stay still for a more than a moment though, I think being fidgety at 5 is pretty normal. But teacher says she takes ages to sit and normally ends up grabbing the edge of a table and sort of squatting.

She is having physio to improve her walking and loosen up her feet, I'll mention it to her physiotherapist. Just getting more stiff, this long after the casts were removed worried me that it might be some sort of joint problem.
