My son has a sore itchy patch on his scrotum. I guess heat, not drying and sweat caused. Have tried sudocreme for a few days a bit better. Decided to get some canesten 1% DD had this for sweat/nappy rash prescribed by gp in the past. Asked at boots came away with there own make rather than canesten. Ingredients is the same I have checked however the package says not for use under 16yrs:0 All the old canesten stuff and I have checked the web states can be used for nappy rash. Don't think too many over 16 s will be suffering from this.
Am i ok to use boots own? logic says yes but I have that horrible feeling I have applied something I shouldn't:0 help anybody?

I'm not a gp or a nurse (!) but hopefully to reassure you, my 7 yo DD was recently prescribed the slightly stronger canesten (I think 2%) so I would have thought your son would be fine with it, providing it is the same strength as the normal canesten.

Also, I can remember putting it on DS's nappy rash when he was about 4 months Shock. It didn't occur to me that I shouldn't use it. It cleared it up almost totally in a few hours. It was like magic. I did then go to the gp and fess up, but they said it was fine, and gave something else similar but with an antibiotic too.

It should be fine, shouldn't it?
