Swollen lymph node 13 month old

Ds has had a lump just underneath the outside edge of his eyebrow since he was 2.5 months. When it first appeared the Health visitor said it was just where he'd bumped his head and it'd be gone within a week. When it didn't disappear I took him to the Dr, who diagnosed a swollen lymph node and prescribed eye drops. Dr said it could take 6-8 weeks, but that it should go eventually.

Last time we were at the Drs for an unrelated issue I mentioned it had not changed and was basically told I was an over anxious mother. Ds is now 13 months and the node is still noticeably raised. Is it something I need to be concerned about? The Dr I saw made me feel like a child for mentioning it, but it's something I notice every day.

I don't have any particular expertise in this (I'm not a doctor), but DS (6) has had one raised lymph node for at least 4 years. I was told that as long as it's not growing massively (and that I'd know if it was), and he seems basically well most of the time, I shouldn't worry. I think in general if something's been there for many months (as with your DS), and is not changing, it tends to be nothing to worry about. Hope the doc is nicer in future.

Thank you. It doesn't seem to bother him, it's always visible but does flare up now and then which I've been putting down to colds, teething etc. I guess I'll just continue to keep an eye on it, and avoid that Dr in the future.
