Bleeding Foot

Hi,

My DD is 6mo. A few days ago she somehow skinned her little toe and it bled a bit. It seemed to be healing but she has obviously knocked it and it has bled again leaving blood all over her bouncer. She doesn't appear to be in any pain but she has always scrunched up her toes and each time she does this, it seems to open up the wound and make it bleed again.

Please can anyone offer some advice on how to get this to heal. We did try just leaving it as I said, but it didn't seem to work. I'm not sure if putting a sock on her foot would work at all, and know I'm not meant to use a plaster so I'm a bit clueless. Because of the heat ATM she is spending the day in just a nappy and then in a sleep suit which covers her feet a night.

Thanks in advance!

I would consider putting a sock or even maybe 2-3 layers of socks on to protect it for a few days. That way the skin can breathe beneath but the material should hopefully protect the site from being further damaged while it heals. Make sure you keep the site clean and if you wash it ensure it is thoroughly dry afterwards.
