Would just like to know really if the blisters are only on the hands feet and mouth?
Just had a shit week with ds and i think he had it and has now passed it on to dd. she has the typical sores on tongue and in mouth, can't eat but no blisters on hands and feet.
Ds had one blister on lip and one on palm but had (still has) them on arms, legs and tummy, about 20 in total. They both have them under their nostrils.

Does this sound like HFM? Or have I got it wrong?

They both also have/had headache, very sore throat, lethargy, fever.

Just to add, they've both had chicken pox and although the spots are blistery, they are definitely not the same

My DS was covered in spots, they were everywhere. I actually thought he had some strange form of non-itchy chicken pox until he got very ill with diarrhoea. The blisters on his feet were huge and looked infected.

The fact that he had spots on his hands, feet and inside his mouth was more important in the diagnosis than the fact that his whole body was covered in them, was the impression I got from the doctor.

Oh and the ones on his feet appeared a few days after the rest. Hopefully this helps you!

My DD had them on hands, feet and bum.

I searched a few MN threads at the time and the consensus seemed to be that buttocks was common, as was other parts of the body.

I do hope your children are well soon. I did manage not to catch it, but we went through so many towels in one week and had to cancel our holiday, it was a real pain.

Thanks so much for your replies. Seems my doctoring skills were right then! Ds back at school today after a week off. Dd off school as she can't eat still! Bless her she's gone through 24 ice lollies over the weekend!
Strange how we've all reacted differently to the virus!
