Does this sound like sleep apnea or normal ?

I have noticed recently (especially if she is very tired) that my 3 year old seems to do some odd breathing as she goes into the first minute of sleep. She seems to breath rather erratically before she goes into of regular breathing. Sometimes I think she has missed a breath and tonight I counted 8 seconds before she resumed breathing. Does this sound normal or should I have a word with the GP? I sat with her for a few more minutes and her breathing sounds very deep and regular now.

It sounds normal. Mine do similar. Does she snore?

Thanks changey. She does snore occasionally but not very often. I looked in her throat this morning and her tonsils look quite big but she doesn't get any infections. When she has had the occasional virus the doctor has never made any comment about the size of her tonsils though.
