Toddler pain passing urine but no infection - any ideas?

My DD was struggling to wee at nursery on Tuesday. Seemed to have sudden urge to go but then would pass very little or no urine and say to her key worker that it was sore.

Thought it sounded like an infection so phoned docs and they sent away samples for testing. DD was sent home from nursery yesterday as she still seemed to be in pain and was getting upset.

Phoned docs for results and they came back clear. Receptionist couldn't offer me another appointment til fri as the results seem to show all is well.

DD is back at nursery today but still seems out of sorts. She's cranky and more sensitive than usual and although she managed to wee as normal first thing she was displaying the same symptoms after she'd been up for an hour or so. Don't know if it's connected but she's also had what looks like a heat rash on her face since last weekend which seems to come and go.

I can't figure out what would be causing the issue with her wees if there's no infection present. Does anyone have any experience of this?
