My14 year old ds has discovered a small pea sized lump under jaw at front of chin he says it is sore and is now panicking about lymphoma, he has been looking it up on sites and got himself into a bit of a panic, just wondered if anyone has seen this before

It is a swollen gland..there are many more innocent causes which are more likely than lymphoma..usually infection. Could be a dentak cause.

Hopefully the GP can set his mind at rest :)

He did have a filling on Monday with an injection and I wondered whether it was anything to do with that although injection was not where lump is, will take him to docs to have a look, I will also keep him off the website as he panics about anything like this

Far more likely to be related to that :)

Or even more likely a minor virus.

Keep eye on tooth in case there is infection brewing there.

Most likely to be a 'reactive' gland caused by the recent dental work. If it doesn't go down after a week or 2 take him to the GP

Thanks for all the replies will show him and if not better in week will take to gp
