Isn't eating as much as usual?

My DD is 9 weeks old and normally eats around 5oz each time she has a bottle, not sure how much when she is on the breast but I express and formula feed often.

Anyway she hasn't done a poo for 3 days and is only eating 2oz every 3 or 4 hours and only having one 6oz bottle a day and that's it. She will have a breastfeed and seems happier with that as don't think a lot comes out each time, a few ounces probably.

Anyway I was wondering is it OK for her to not eat this much? Is it because she needs to poo, because she is straining/wanting to poo but isn't able to poo yet (second day of straining, usually does it every 2 days).

Is this OK or does it need to be taken up with the doctor?

She's probably a bit full up with poo! Take her to the doctor as little ones can get bunged up and its uncomfortable for them. The doctor will probably give you something to help her go or advise prune juice or similar. I'd keep breastfeeding over bottle for the time being and don't panic as long as she doesn't look dehydrated (sunken fontanelle / pinch skin and it doesn't bounce back).
