Don't panic first of all.

How did they eat it? Did they get into a jar or was it in something you didn't realise?

Calm down. Infant botulism is vanishingly unlikely. Google the symptoms just in case, but I'm sure s/he will be absolutely fine!

McFarts · 09/06/2013 18:56

Im sure the little one will be fine, i never actively checked in ingredients on things.....Hmm maybe im just a bad parent?

Smartiepants79 · 09/06/2013 18:57

I really wouldn't worry. The chances of them being ill are very, very small.
Keep an eye on them but calm down its not poisonous.

I'm travelling abroad and bought some houmous for her (dairy and soya allergy and veggie) so we eat a lot of houmous, then I saw it after she ate maybe 3 fingerfuls and totally freaked out, I'm actually crying. Sorry if that sounds melodramatic I just feel constantly in crisis and that I'm doing everything wrong HmmHmm

To reassure a little, there have been 11 cases if infant botulism in 30 years and not all of the definitely due to honey.

It's a tiny risk.

PotteringAlong · 09/06/2013 19:00

I think that, if you feel c

You're not doing everything wrong. Flowers and Brew for you. She'll be fine and so will you.

Love, that sounds like your anxiety talking. Have you spoken to anyone in rl about how you feel? Must be exhausting to feel like you're going from crisis to crisis. :(

Dorisday13 · 09/06/2013 19:07

I'm in Central Europe

Take a breath. All will be fine. She's not ingested anything toxic. If you are really worried call your hv tmw. They will say to keep any eye on her in the event she gets ill. I think it's highly unlikely she will get ill.

Why do you feel you are doing everything wrong?

Having your first baby is life changing and a bit of a shock even to the most horizontal parent and if you're the kind of person who likes to do things by the book you will have quickly realised babies do not go by the book, this does not mean you are doing anything wrong.

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling a lot calmer now, dh made me take a shower and was as pragmatic as usual. I think I'm just really tired. We'll keep an eye on her x
