What could a dr give him? or is it a case of, like us, letting it run its course?

He hasn't got a cough, just a runny nose and more heavy breathing/chest sounds.

cheers :)

Any young child who is chesty I would get checked out incase they need antibitioics or inhaler.

If he is wheezy and has a temperature with it then he might have a chest infection, which clears up really quickly on antibiotics.

If he is just wheezy with a cold then a doctor can prescribe ventolin syrup which can help with the breathing and mean he is more comfortable.

If you are worried then I would take him to the doctor, just so they can listen to his chest, and give you peace of mind. It is horrible when they are ill.

Yes dr. Could be chest infection or bronchiolitis, or allergies or nothing, but always worth checking :)

My ds has similar, took him to the Dr on Tue and was prescribed an inhaler to use until he's over it. He's a lot more comfortable now. It's worth getting checked out, I was expecting to be told it's a virus that just needs to run it's course (which it is) but was pleased there is something that will help. Hope your dc recovers soon

Oh thanks guys. I haven't heard much wheezing today (only 2 sort of crackles), so am unsure now. No more nose running either and not had a temp at all. I'll see how he is tomorrow.

I didn't realise they could give them anything. I feel bad now. I should have taken him sooner. I suppose i am put off because the surgery is a festering pit of germs and we always leave with more than we arrived with - last time it was the Norovirus :(

I feel the same, I'd have taken him sooner if I'd known too. It's so hard to know what to do for the best.
