Tips on stopping coughing so DS can sleep

DS is 18mo and has been woken up last three nights by a horrible dry cough that seems to come in waves. Really bright in himself, no temp, just a snotty nose and this cough. I have given him calpol but any other suggestions welcome.

Have you tried raising one end (where is head is) of his bed?
Humidifier?

rub vicks on his feet top and bottom,

prop him up,

steamy bath before bed.

Don't have a humidifier but will try and raise cot at one end thank you.

Would Vicks on Muslin do as I don't want to undress him if possible?
