Dent in 10mth old baby's skull

I'm taking dd2 to the docs this week hopefully (if I can get an appointment!) to discuss her ezcema but I'm also going to ask about her head. Thought I'd see if anyone here has any experience of this too.

DD2 has a dent in her head. It looks exactly as if she has been wearing a hair band that has dug in too deep across the top of her head. It is in line from ear to ear over the top of her head, but is only really obvious on the top part of her head. Ie. it isn't dented from the ear to the top of her head. I hope that makes sense. I don't recall it being so obvious as a newborn, but def from about 3/4 mths. It's obvious in photos and of course I can see it every day, but I think if you didn't know and glanced at her, you wouldn't think it a big deal.

I'm hoping its just all part of the skull growing and shaping, but of course I'm terrified she has some bizarre fusing of the skull and that it won't grow to accommodate her brain!

Anyone had anything similar?

It could just be where her skull is growing and the soft spot is changing shape and starting to fuse over. If it was the skull sutures fusing it would feel more like a bony ridge and you would see changes in her overall headshape. GP should be able to reassure you but if you have doubts still check out headlines.org.uk or ask for a referral to a paediatrician.

My dd had a vague dent that sounds the same, I assumed she had been a bit "stuck" in my pelvis. It gradually went away, certainly by 12 m there was no sign of it, but always worth checking with the GP.

Her head will be changing as the fontanelles close up and it all fuses

Dd1 had this and dd2 currently has. I've always assumed its an good thing. The skull grows as a consequence of a growing brain, so changes in head shapeless a developing brain IYSWIM?
As pp said dd1's had gone by 12months. But of course check with gp to put your mind at ease.
