Help my 2 and a half year old just had a metallic gold poo. She hasn't had anything different to usual as far as I know but she has been a bit constipated. Is this a serious problem?????

Could she have eaten glitter/paint?

HeadFairy · 02/05/2013 19:11

has she eaten anything like paint/crayon or similar to give her the gold poo?

SoupDragon · 02/05/2013 19:12

Kind of like the goose that laid the golden egg - you could make a fortune!

lauren121212 · 02/05/2013 19:23

I'm pretty sure she hasn't eaten any paint or crayons or anything, but I'm not 100% as she's very good at hiding things.

Cake with edible gold leaf on it?

raisinggirls · 02/05/2013 19:27

I'd wait and see if it is a one-off before you get too worried. I bet she's been sneakily licking the crayons! :)

Haha she does like cake but I'm pretty sure she hasn't had any gold leaf on it

Yeah I'm sorta hoping shes been licking crayons or something and it's not anything more serious

She must've ingested something gold and sparkly, I really can't see any other explanation.... it's not sand, is it? That can be a bit glittery.

lauren121212 · 02/05/2013 21:03

She has played in sand but i'm pretty confident that she didnt eat any, it looked like the inside of the gold glitter gel pens you can get (im certain she hasnt eaten one of them) and it was consistantly gold metallic all the way through (so it werent just spots of it)

How strange, maybe soupdragon is right - solid gold poo, wow, there's a money maker we never thought of before!

Hope DD is ok, lauren :)

SoupDragon · 03/05/2013 07:27

It will be something she's eaten without you noticing. Is she at nursery at all?

DD once ate Floam - that modelling clay stuff that has the little polystyrene balls in it. Thankfully I'd seen her do it so the apparent infestation of insect eggs in her nappy wasn't a complete surprise!
