Just found some eggs in YSS hair, he has shoulder length hair and is itching (now do is everyone else), what's best to buy? How quickly will it clear?

Nitty Gritty Comb, should be available in very large supermarkets or any chemist. Lots of cheapo conditioner.

Use ordinary comb to detangle. Wet hair and place child on low chair in front of you, with towel round shoulders. Apply a good blob of conditioner. Working in sections, use Nitty Gritty to comb through. Have a bowl of water and some kitchen roll to clear off the conditioner and nits/lice from the comb.

Best done in front of telly as will not be less than half an hour.

Do everyone in family.

Do it again in 2 days, and two days after that and so on, until no sign of the blighters. Then weekly for the rest of your children's nursery/primary career (when you're just checking, it doesn't take nearly so long).

For an instant fix the only chemical warfare that works is Hedrin, but that's very very expensive.

Ordinary nit combs are not nearly as effective as the Nitty Gritty, the best £10 you will ever spend.
