Baby with diarrhoea. What to feed him?

Poor baby DS (9 mo) has been poorly with various things for over a month now. He's on his third lot of antibiotics in that time, this time for an ear infection. These have given him diarrhoea. He's breast fed and is feeding frequently - especially at night (most of the night). He is fractious and difficult (unusually) and seems hungry.

He wants solid food and asks for it. However, it goes through him almost immediately (within half an hour) and usually appears pretty much undigested. I've tried cutting dairy as illness can apparently make then temporarily dairy intolerant. He's had rice, bland baby food, bread, toast, banana. I know it's the antibiotics affecting his gut. Don't know whether to try yoghurt.

We have two more days of antibiotics. Hard to tell if he's well yet as the diarrhoea will be making him feel rough too, I suppose.

Those are all the foods I've given in the past with Ds, and the bf will help. Would steer clear of yoghurt and dairy as you say.

Ask your go if you think it's going on too long or your baby is not getting enough fluids.

When my baby was ill the nurse recommended foods that were white so we ate rice, stewed apple, white toast, pasta. I hope he feels better soon, it's so horrible when they are ill at that age.
