Dd is 2..5

She's had a cough on and off for weeks but this last week it's got very chesty - had her at GP twice last week all clear.

Overnight her temp up again and not eating this morning which is very unlike her. Saw GP who was v dismissive said ears red and chest clear.

Since then her temps at 394 and not coming down despite meds. Not eating. Just fallen asleep - again v unlike her.

Complained of sore neck. Cough not frequent but sounds v chesty and though not sucking skin in she sounds like she's panting a bit. Has history of UTI.

Am v worried and have asked for another appointment but am I being over anxious?

Have you seen if she can touch her chin on her chest? Is she otherwise responsive? Have you counted her breaths per min?

That is a high fever and unresponsive to meds. If one of mine were like that I would make sure that they were seen by a doctor. However, I am aware that I take quite a cautious approach relative to some.

Follow your instincts and phone out of hours service. She's very young.

Agree with Larry. I would take her to A+E.

cocolepew · 24/03/2013 16:11

I would also go to A&E.
