Hello, just a quick question as I've been offered varying advice. My 2 year old has chicken pox. I'm exclusively BF my 5 month old, can anyone tell me whether he will still have my immunity or has he a good chance of catching it too?

I dont think bf offers as much protection when they are past the first few weeks after birth. There are plenty of stories on here about young bf babies catching chicken pox so he may or may not catch it. The incubation period is 10-21 days so you may have a wee while to wait before you find out if he has caught it or not.

I think he probably will catch it because he's been in such constant contact but its not guaranteed

Thanks! I thought he might get it since my 2 year old insists on kissing him almost constantly therefore it is quite likely..!
