Yes! We've just had this. Both DC with nasty virus (3 yo and 8 months). Followed by hideous flare ups, DD (3), in particular was literally covered, from top to toe. She was given antibiotics. The baby had his first flare up, although he'd had tiny patches before.

Shifted it with a rigorous routine of hydrocortisone and doublebase. DS is left with an impossible nappy rash.

Weird, thought it was just my kids. Hope it clears up for your DD soon.

She is absolutely covered

Went to gp today to get some more cream but wouldn't prescribe the steroid cream that I know she needs -wants to do a week of emollient and anti histamines -so that's a week of scratching herself raw then!

I'd see another GP tomorrow then. It's obvious you know what she needs. How old is she?

chickensaladagain · 20/03/2013 20:46

She's 9

When she was younger it was so bad we did wet wraps and light therapy but over the last 12 months she's been pretty clear -I could cry

Oh I really feel for you. It's heartbreaking, isn't it? I am actually crying when I change DS's nappy sometimes, and felt the same about DD's eczema.

Surely, as your DD had that severity of eczema when younger, your GP should be listening to you!
