Flatulent DS - normal or worrying?

DS does really stinky farts (sorry for TMI). Is this in itself a cause for concern? Should I be worried about gut disorders? He doesn't seem bothered and doesn't get tummy aches, but I read that flatulence can be a sign of malabsorption so have started worrying about it.

Background: He's 6, he eats really well (good appetite, lots of veg, fruit, fish, etc). He's short for his age (though growing along centile and GP not worried) and a bit chubby, though not overweight (slightly higher centile for weight than height). If he eats beans, etc., it's REALLY bad, the rest of the time it's just quite smelly. Generally pretty healthy.

Does anyone else have this with their DCs? Is it normal??

Thank you very much for help!

I wouldn't worry

I'm pretty sure it's normal.
My 7 yo is really stinky, but is very very proud of his farts and scores them out of 10 Hmm

If malabsorption was a problem, I imagine your ds would appear underweight and unhealthy.

Thank you, BeaWheest and Deadly.
I started panicking about things like coeliacs because he's short and a late teether. But he is definitely not underweight, and normal bowel movements, etc.
If others have this too, I may give the doctor a break about this one unless it gets worse, etc.
Thanks again.
