Worried about how much DD is sleeping

My just turned one DD seems to be sleeping a lot. Yesterday she had a three hour nap in the afternoon then slept for 13.5 hours last night and has been asleep again this afternoon for 3.5 hours. She had her immunisations about 10 days ago, she seems well in herself she's got a snotty nose and had a cough which is better now. She doesn't seem to be in discomfort or pain. She went through a few days of eating loads too but didn't eat as much yesterday or today so far. She hasn't got a temperature she's just a bit whiney but that seems more because she is tired. Is this normal? I'm a bit worried about her.

Sounds like she's either coming down with something, or doing a lot of growing.

Keep an eye on her, but mine do this every now and again.

I wondered if she is growing as she seems taller.

My youngest slept like this till about 2.5

Enjoy it

I'm not complaining that she is sleeping so well, just a bit worried it might be too much! I think she must take after me I've always been (and still am) a good sleeper.

Oh and the MMR vaccination can affect them for up to three weeks, different bits kick in at different times.

Was just coming on to ask a similar question re my two year old!

Geekster · 17/03/2013 20:50

Might be her MMR then could well be a contributing factor anyway. It's a lot of immunisations they have at once for such little children.

Prob a combination of vaccinations and growing

My DD slept at least that much when she was that age and I was concerned too but no MN then. She's at university now so obviously didn't do her too much harm.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. I will make the most of it while it lasts. Smile
