Ds2 - virus and swollen eye - just Calpol or anything else?

Ds2 started with a virus yesterday - temperature, headache, bunged up, very sore throat - all of which is being managed with Calpol and Calprofen at regular intervals and he's ok, just very tired.

A couple of hours ago one eye started to swell around his eyelid - looks horrible but he says it's not itchy or painful, just feels weird.

Is this part of the virus? None of us has ever had swollen eyes with colds before! Just wondering if we need to be thinking about a doctor's appt or whether to see how it goes?

Get it checked out. My cellulitis started with a swollen eyelid. Could just be a stye but worth getting checked.

Thanks - there's no redness or discharge, just a really swollen eyelid and just the one eye at the moment. Will take him to the docs I think if it hasn't gone down today.

Mine wasn't red or swollen either started with a cold and then the area under my eyebrow started to swell. I just felt tired, it didn't hurt. A friend told me to call nhs direct, I was admitted for intravenous antibiotics.

I'm not trying to scare you, it's just worth a phone call to ask.

Hope he's okay.

You do need to call the doctor and get this checked out today. Please don't leave it.
