Weaning and poo

DD is 27 weeks and has started solids (BLW). For the last 4 days she has had very watery stools at every nappy change and has even begun pooing at night. She is feeding normally (approx 36-40oz per day) and her Fontanelle is normal.

She has silent reflux so isn't a contented baby anyway. She is no more unsettled than usual.

Is this a worry or normal?

At this stage in BLW babies don't swallow much (if any) food so ir shouldn't be that making the change in poo. Although I wouldn't worry as my ds's poos are always changing.

She's def swallowing! The evidence is in the nappy Grin

Hmmm. We went to the GP today as DD is still pooing every 2-3 hours inc overnight. We've to take samples Grin

At midnight she woke screaming. She had pooed but it is just water now. We gave her some water in a cup and Calpol as she seemed to be in pain. Now fast asleep in my arms.

I am more concerned now than ever.

Oh sweetheart :( I'm sure she'll be ok. There are a fair few bugs going round at the moment (DS has been a nightmare the last few days) so it could be that. Teething can also give them diarrhea. Just keep giving her fluids and calpol until you see the doctor next.

Thanks Murder. I guess we just need to keep a close eye on her. It's scary when they're ill. She's been so unwell for most of her wee life.

It's horrible isn't it? DS has been the same. :(
