If your baby's poorly, when would you worry about fluid intake?

All the dc have d and v at the moment. Started yesterday.

17 week old has been being sick since 11pm last night. Had 4oz at 9pm which he threw up throughout the night. Had 4oz about 9am which dc brought up immediately. Seriously most of the 4oz.

Baby asleep and bit unsure what to do. I want to leave dc asleep as he's resting. But concerned about the lack of fluids. Shall I ring dr?

How many wet nappies in last 12 hours?

Any fever?

Diarrhoea ?

Ring the doc if you're worried yes especially as so tiny

8oz since last night and vomited most? I would be getting him checked out either by GP or A and E.

How many wet nappies is he having? Is the inside of his mouth wet?

No temp
No diahorrea -yet
Wet nappy from through the night. But mostly dry now. Inside of mouth is wet.
Baby just woke up and seems quite perky so going to try a bottle and if that doesn't stay down I think I'll call dr.

Good plan

Well we have baby 4oz and it all came back up again almost immediately.

Rang dr. He said to give baby 2-3 oz of water and see if that stays down and he would ring me back in an hour. Water stayed down. So dr has said to offer just water through the night and a small amount of milk in the morning.

If milk stays down and everything seems fine then stick with the milk. If baby starts to throw up the water tonight or if milk doesn't stay down in the morning, or if I get concerned then either call ooh dr, go to a and e or go to dr in the morning.

So far water is staying down. Though he has had a bad diahorrea filled nappy, baby is at least keeping water down. Tbh I think I'll go to the dr in the morning anyway to get baby checked over. Temperature is a little raised so given some calpol. Will see how we get on tonight. Thanks for the replies earlier.
