Hand foot and mouth

I think my DS (18mo) has got this and I've just started to get spots on my hands (on top of feeling rubbish for a week). Anyone else experienced this with their DC? How long did it last all up?

My DS was originally diagnosed with infected eczema when we took him up the GP earlier this week but looking at where the spots are ( around mouth, hands, knees, feet and toes) I think it's hand foot and mouth.

Well go back to GP tomorrow to confirm and stop contact with other kids as I understand its contagious.. Not sure why GP didn't pick this up first time..?

Both of mine had this last year. Blisters (not spots) on palms of hands, soles of feet, in and around the mouth and around the bottom. Lasted about a week. Highly contagious in children, but I was told that most adults will have been exposed as a child so will probably not catch it from their DC. We certainly didn't, but may have been lucky!

Calpol, cuddles and ice pops to soothe his mouth all help! Hope he feels better soon.

sounds possible. How ill they feel generally depends on how many they have in their mouth. Is contagious so you're meant to keep them in until the spots have gone.

Adults do get it but very rarely badly- a few spots. I'd be surprised if it made you feel ill
