Scarlet fever!

My nephew has got it! A boy at his school has it too, and they are worried he might have passed it onto his athletics club and to HS little sister and his parents!

He's in antibiotics and is fine-ish but is it me, or is it actually not that common? They are on Stockholm thankfully, but can you remember any scarlet fever around you?

my son had it when he was about 6. He was fine and the dr said that once he had been on anti biotics for 48 hours he wasn't infectious either

Yes, we've done that too. DS 2 ended up with scarlet fever, in DS1 it presented as scarletina and I just had the strep throat. It went round their (v expensive) day nursery.
Apparently it is quite common and probably under diagnosed although I think its still a notifiable condition, so we had to have a blood test to diagnose.
