dry skin on baby's face

hi can anyone recommend something for dry skin on a baby?

DS is 5 months old and has a band of very dry skin across his forehead and sides of his head. its quite red and sore looking today. he also has a patch on the side of his face by his ear.

I've tried olive oil and epaderm both of which seem to make it worse. Today I've put some sudacrem on it which seems to have taken the redness out of it but obviously it won't help with the dryness.

He's not been weaned yet so i don't think its an allergy.

You could try Aveeno, it's quite mild but it doesn't workfor everyone (didn't on my baby's). If its quite red, I'd go to the gp,he might need some hydrocortisone.

id go to gp , he might have eczema .
have you tried e45?

thanks.

i wasn't sure if e45 would be too strong for his skin? got HV on Monday she's actually quite good so ill get her to take a look & maybe make an appt for him.

My dd had dry, red skin on her face when she was a baby. The doctor diagnosed seborrhoeic excema and gave us cream. It cleared up and didn't come back.
