My 4 month old breastfed baby has had the symptoms of secondary lactose intolerance for almost a week. The internet tells me that I should keep bfeeding, that cutting out dairy will make no difference (as cow milk intolerance is different thing), that his gut will take c. 4 weeks to repair itself.
I wondered if Colief might help. But am also very nervous of giving his gut more new stuff to deal with, as this episode was triggered by me drinking a load of prune juice in an effort to cure his chronic constipation (boy did that work, but not something I would now recommend.)
Any suggestions for sad baby (tummyache) and tired parents (overnight nappy changes and early rising with exploding poo)? Or as I suspect are we doing right just to sit tight and ride it out?
