Excessive dribbling 2 and a half year old

My nephew always dribbled as a baby and while teething but pretty much stopped 6 months ago. He's recently started and the dribbling is so bad, my sister is having to put a fresh bib on several times a day and constantly wipe his mouth and chin.

He suffers from eczema but has been cleared in the last 12m from the standard food allergies.

GP has been useless, should she see HV? Someone else?

Dd is same age and doing same I'm presuming its her molarS.

Is his nose always blocked? Could he have enlarged adenoids/sinuses which are preventing him from learning to breathe through the nose? Does he snore unusually loudly compared to other babies or have sleep apnea?

If so, then your sister should ask for a referral to your local hospital's ENT specialist to see whether an adenoidectomy may be appropriate. Your GP should not refuse to refer, as only the ENT specialist can be sure whether or not this is the right course of action.

(I realise that my post above doesn't mention the key point which is - could the reason why he's dribbling so much simply that his mouth is open for breathing for much more of the time than other children his age?)

Thanks for posting, he has all his teeth, so sister thought that was the end of dribbling!. He does often have a cold though, interesting re adenoids. What is Buteko MistyB?

tongue tie? It can cause dribbling.
