ds wee smells like fish

Hi, hoping someone can help me.

My ds is 2yrs 4mo and I have just changed his nappy. It was quite heavy and when I took it off, it really smelled fishy. What would make his wee smell like that? He hasnt eaten anything unusual..

Urine is full of ammonia and this is what makes the fishy smell. If the nappy was quite full and had been on a while then i should think that is why. It might be that your Ds urine is a bit concentrated but you say there was lots in it so don't think there is a problem.
