Is this constipation in 9yo DD or something else?

DD has had tummy problems for over 2 years now. Consultant diagnosed RAP/FAP - basically unexplained abdo pain in kids that usually resolves itself.

Anyway, she has been better over the last few months but gets constipated - she doesn't drink enough at school, doesn't eat nearly as much fruit as she used to - so she gets sore tummies, has to go to the loo loads then after about 5 days has her big poo and it's back to normal.

While she's having these episodes her poos STINK - absolutely hideous. And normally they don't smell much at all. And she has a lot of mucus after the poos.

Tonight she had very bad diarrhoea - it didn't give her enough warning to get to the loo - and she says her tummy is v sore, can't walk. Is this just constipation? or is there something else going on?? Do we need to go back to the doc? they haven't been much good at all.

Help please!

I'd go back to GP. While she's constipated her poo will absolutely stink.. But I'm not convinced this is all just constipation.
My ds has had constant abdo pain for 11 months now. We've had a range of 'answers' - ibs, viral ibs, anxiety, various others. We've now had to trial an exclusion diet and it looks as though his baby allergies have returned.
Even if it is constipation, you still need help to manage and prevent these episodes.

Thanks frazzled. Before we saw the specialist, our GP had dd on an exclusion diet for almost a year and that didn't help at all. We excluded diary, wheat, gluten etc. and I don' t think any of it made any difference.
Thanks.
