Rash around BCG scar.

My daughter is 8 months old. She has a rash around her BCG scar, she had the BCG 6 months ago. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've heard lots about BCG scars, from DC needing antibiotics, to it being treated as a reaction (ie nothing being done.) In most cases, the reaction was some time after the vaccine was administered (as in your case). The best thing would be for a Dr to look at it.

My DSIS got a huge puss full lump on hers which left a thin layer of scar tissue over a hole when it burst. It was sore for ages.

The Drs comment was "that's a very good reaction"

She almost kills him (she was about 13)

That sounds similar to what my DN had....she was prescribes antibiotics, but apparently it's not necessary, as it's a normal reaction.

And I'm surprised it's a good reaction, because when we were tested in school, to see if we needed the BCG, apparently I didn't....but was off school when vaccines were administered....so a year later went though the same thing...apparently I did need the BCG, and had it. No reaction at all. No mark to this day...nothing.

She's not had any puss and its not irritating her, no fever so I know it's no an infection. I'm going to call the dictor tomorrow, was just wonder if its happened to anyone else.
