Chicken Pox Spots on Bum!

Cur1yWur1y · 28/02/2013 14:58

Hello, wondering if any of you can help? My 2 year old has had chicken pox for 5 days now & has spots mainly on his tummy, back & legs some new spots, some drying out. I just changed his nappy & his bum has a cluster of new spots some look quite pussy ( right in between his bum cheeks). Does anybody know if this is a normal place for new spots to come out after 5 days? I've currently got him without a nappy on to get some air on him.

Any advice very welcome. Thank you.

Yep ds had them on bum and under foreskin (and on eyeball) and dd had them all inside her. Sad

DS2 also got them in his nappy area too.
Those spots took an age to scab over. Nappy off time is a good idea.
I thought the spots came out in 'waves' (i.e. some spots, then 24 hours some more, then more again 24 hours later?).
I don't know when they should stop coming out though.

I used that yellow nappy cream on my son's bottom area.
Oh what is it called metonium? Someone correct me!
Worked very well at drying spots out

Yes I have some of the yellow cream & have put a thin layer on his bum before bed time. It's called Metanium.

Thanks.
