The past 2 weeks my baby has had a cold and then In between a bloody awful vomiting bug along with diarrhoea and still has a bad cough thats really gets on her nerves, also she still has really bad diarrhoea, but when me and my partner had it we only had it a day and can't see why she still has it and its waking her up at night, but also she has been really clingy lately and will not let me put her down or leave her with any one else and it's getting to the point where to keep her happy Iv been taking we to the loo with meConfused, I know I shouldn't but I hate seeing her so unhappy and giving me those sad eyes. She's never like this normally. she also has just become really Whinny even when I have just put her down to change her she starts thinking I'm going to leave her and makes whimpering noises Sad really need some advise as I start back at work soon and don't want this to carry on or she's going to be hysterical!

Hi, first of all how old is your baby? Sorry to hear you're worried.

Have you taken her to the doctor?

Do you think the crying is related to illness or just normal separation anxiety?

BeaWheesht · 27/02/2013 19:15

If she's around 8/9 months I find that's when separation anxiety kicks in and also when they're most frustrated with life. I don't know how old she is though.

Is he cough chesty? Wheezy? When she breathes is skin under her ribs or trachea pulling in? There are signs she needs seen ASAP.

Ime tummy bugs, especially diorrhea always last longer in little ones. We had a bug in January - dh and I were fine after a day, ds was mostly fine after 3 days (he's 6) and dd had runny nappies on and off for 3 weeks! (She is 2). Is she still feeding ok? Having wet nappies?

Does she have a fever? Could she be teething?

Utimately if you're worried get her checked.

She is just coming up to 7 months.
I'm guessing its a bit of both at the mo with the illness and separation anxiety. People have been saying she could now also be teething but I can't see anything coming through as of yet and she's not really getting any other symptoms for it but I suppose it could be a possibility.
We haven't been to the doctors just yet as I am not concerned too much about the cough as its quite phlegmy now which is usually a good sign that it's going but I will watch her with it, but it mostly just tickles her throat and annoys her.
With the wet nappies as far as I can tell she's still having a good amount but with the diarrhoea it's hard to tell sometimes.
Might see how she is in the day tomorrow and just pop in to the walk in centre to get some advice if need be Smile
