Private audiology tests/NHS care

Our HV and I have been trying to organise a referral for audiology/SaLT for my 2.1 yo DS for a few weeks. She's helpful but we don't have a date yet, and it all seems to be very slow - she sends faxes/emails and leaves messages but nothing seems to happen. And when we get a date eventually it is unlikely to be immediately.

I'm can get a private audiology assessment with chears this week. It just seems that if there is a problem, we'll have skipped a step, and saved everyone precious time. But does anyone have any experience of whether NHS audiology/SaLT are happy to work with the results of a private hearing test? So far DS's care has been quite joined up (he's also had physio/paed appointments), and I don't want to jeopordise that. Any thoughts?

yes you can mix and match private/nhs and use reports from one to inform the other. sometimes it is the same people you see. sometimes not. makes sense to have audiology report when you meet SALT so you know if hearing is involved or not.

That's very useful - thank you! Am a bit new to all of this...
