I'm sorry, I don't know what it's likely to be, but the fact it's movable is usually a very good sign that it's nothing sinister.

My DS (age 9) has had these for years .... paeds weren't worried about them at all .... they did blood tests to dot all the i's but they came back normal! ... If he's well in himself i'm sure everything will be fine - the doc said to me that when such lumps are sinister the child is usually very unwell ... If your DS is fine apart from colds etc i'm sure it'll be fine :)

Thanks for the replies.
Went to doctor today, she could feel it right away and said it is def moveable and probably a fluid filled cyst.
She asked if he was generally well,if he suffered nights sweats, weight loss or any other swollen glands, whicj he has none of.
She has referred him to hospital but there is a waiting time of around 2-3 months. She would have sent him up sooner if she was really concerned waouldn't she?

It sounds like she's referring him to the hospital just to be on the safe side - if she was worried about it he'd be seen within a fortnight.
