Help, nits!

Have just discovered the Dc have nits. I am sat here itching at the thought of the possibility that they might be setting up home in my hair!

We have only had them once before and that was when Ds was a toddler, he is now nearly 9 so I consider myself lucky to have avoided them for so long really. I know all about the conditioner combing thing but would really like something quicker that eradicates them straight away, preferably something that kills the eggs as well as the lice and was wondering if anyone could recommend the best stuff to use. Also my dd has extremely thick curly, almost afro hair that gets tangled extremely easily. It is a nightmare to comb and she sometimes squeals when I do. Any tips on dealing with the nit eradication on her hair would be appreciated too.

You don't need lotion if you condition comb. Nothing works instantly anyway in my experience.

Hedrin is absolutely the only lotion worth using. Tbh, combing with a Nitty Gritty is probably more effective though :(

Sorry to say nitty gritty comb every time.

However when dd was in reception she kept getting them over & over so my auntie (qualified homeopath & health visitor) gave us a course of tablets, can't remember what they were called buuuut dd has only had them once or twice since & both times the lice didn't lay any eggs so seems to have worked as a preventative
