Cradle Cap

I'm a first time mummy...Can anyone advise me how often I should treat my son's cradle cap?
My son is 6 weeks old, and I've been told not to bath him every day.
With that in mind, how often should I wash my son's hair? I've got the Dentinox Cradle Cap Shampoo...could I just wash his head over a sink?

My ds had cradle cap i used that shampoo every time for a few weeks and it went havent have a problem since. my dd has cradle cap still at 10 months cannt get rid of it, she has lots of hair that covers it. Use it every time he has a bath, think it would be difficult to just do his hair. Baby oil works but makes hair greasy even after washing

Hi Harriet, the best advice I was given was to use oil.

Unless your son has loads of hair, rub a large teaspoonful of oil into his scalp whenever you can (I used olive oil) and it gets rid of the cradle cap.

Similarly, unless he has loads of hair you don't need to use shampoo.

You don't say how old he is but, until ds was very active, he was bathed in water with baby oil in to soften it then dried and oiled all over every morning.

Use the flat of your hand, keep pressure fairly light and rub out across the back and chest, clockwise around the belly button, up or down the limbs and smoothing across his face and head from the centre. Warm the oil slightly by rubbing it between your hands.
