Bean bag bean in Ds's ear

DS2 is booked to see a paediatric audiologist on the 7th March due to him complaining about his hearing. NOW he has decided it is a good idea to try to fix his own hearing by sticking a tiny polystyrene bead from a bean bag that is leaking, into his ear. Nice one DS2!!! I tried to see if I could get it out with some really thin tweezers, but I was so worried about damaging his ear that I stopped. Should I take him to a nurse to try to get it out or is it OK to wait til the 7th of March and see if the audiologist has any implements for removing bits and pieces from 7 yr olds ears?? I am a bit worried it may get infected with a foreign object in there. It's really deep.

This may be a really stupid idea, but could you suck it out with a vacuum? Since they are so light you shouldn't have to actually stick the vacuum in his ear, just near...

Go to your GP or A&E today. They will remove it safely.

If you have a minor injuries unit nearby they can do it for you (speaks from bitter experience)

Urge! I feel your pain.

My dd1 (3.5), decided that putting a pea up her nose was a good idea Hmm she had it removed a few weeks ago by surgery as it was well and truly stuck, and rotten

It'll need removing ASAP. And don't try a Hoover, could damage his hearing further. Get an expert to deal with it.

I tried to blast it out with the shower. I thought it might just float out, but no luck! We do have a minor injures unit nearish. I might call first to see if they can do it. I was hoping it would be oK to leave it a couple of weeks. No??

Definitely not ok to leave it.
