My dd had what we thought was a scab from a graze on the side of the top of her thigh. Assumed it was from
Where she slides down the stairs and nappy had been rubbing.

Last night in the bath we noticed that the patch has got bigger. It's now about the diameter of a pound coin. It looks like the top layer of skin is missing so it's link and there are two or three little blistery looking spots around it. Has anyone got any idea what this could be?

I can't figure out how to upload pics from
My phone I'm
Afraid

Ipetigo? Contageous but not harmfull. You need to see your GP for cream, they may do a phone appt.

Oh god I hope it's not that. Those pages said they usually affect the trunk. And the second type, the face. This is on her thigh do u think it could still be that? It's not scabby or crusty either but the little spots do look like blisters :(

I have no idea where she could have got it

Well spoke to a dr who said he obviously can't tell without looking at it but it could be a little localized skin infection . But she has t been unwell and it's not bothering her so we can try using sudocrem or savlon and keep an eye on it. If it gets worse ill take her tomorrow or this afternoon. I have been googling though and it doesnt look like any of the pictures. The only " round " rashes were ring worm and there's no scabs like on the impetigo pics. No fever or swollen glands either. It literally looks like a circle where the top layer of skin is missing like when a scab falls off or a blister bursts.

When you mentioned the coin shape, it made me thing about dermatophytosis en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermatophytosis. Does it look like that?

Thank you for the link :)

No it doesn't look like that. It is round but it isn't on the top of the skin. It's as if a blister has burst exposing the pinker more delicate skin underneath. Like the whole top layer is missing. U can see that the skin on top is not there
